Noble Striker got off the mark in a Maiden Juvenile Plate over 1450m at Turffontein this week, and he beat quite a nice field under Warren Kennedy.
Corne said: “Breeder Philip Kahan raised Noble Striker on behalf of owner/breeder Justus van Wyk, and showed the horse to me on his farm. I liked him and we arranged for him to be sent to me. Justus named him after Piere ‘Striker’ Strydom, who rode him in his second outing, a good fourth over this trip.
“Something went amiss last time, he ran poorly, there was a virus going round, that was an inexplicable run. He’s looks a fair sort in the making, I think we’ll have some fun with Noble Striker. He could train on into a useful staying type.
“Well done and all the best to Justus for this first win, Piere wasn’t available for this ride, but we’ll be hoping for more soon.”
Noble Striker is by Noble Tune from Larussa, by Doowaley.
