Following the BSA August Two-Year-Old Sale, we are delighted to offer ownership opportunities in three outstanding young horses personally inspected and selected by our team.
DOLOBRAN (Photo, Lot 84)
Futura colt
Purchase price: R200,000
A tremendously attractive blend of speed and class. He is the first foal of the stakes-placed 1000m specialist Lucy English, from the immediate family of Equus Champion and Grade 1 winner Bold Ellinore. By four-time Grade 1 winner and Horse of the Year Futura, this colt combines a deeply established speed family with the scope and versatility of a proven classic sire.
BILL BONNEY
Act Of War colt
Purchase price: R425,000
A colt with serious Grade 1 blood throughout his pedigree. He is by Cape Guineas winner Act Of War, already the sire of Grade 1 winners War Of Athena, Battle Force and our own Hazy Dazy. His granddam is the exceptional Zirconeum, winner of the Grade 1 Woolavington 2000 and runner-up in the Durban July, while the wider family also produced Grade 1 sprinter Stellite. This is a powerful combination of precocity, speed and genuine classic quality.
BOLD WONDER
Chimichuri Run filly
Purchase price: R120,000
A particularly exciting value purchase by Grade 1 sprinter Chimichuri Run, whose first crop has already produced promising winners including our own Spirit Of Gabz. Her tough, stakes-performed dam Bold Wonder won seven races from 1400m to 2000m, while her winning half-sister Irish Wonder Girl won five times over 1800m to 2000m. She brings together her sire’s explosive speed with a strong, durable female line capable of carrying that speed over further.
AN EXTRA R140,000 OPPORTUNITY
All three horses qualify for the 2026 BSA Maiden Juvenile Programme. The programme offers 120 bonuses of R140,000 for eligible horses recording their maiden win as juveniles, whether in a juvenile race or open company, subject to the applicable terms and availability.
The R140,000 benefit consists of:
- R90,000 cash and a R30,000 BSA sales voucher for the owner
- R10,000 cash and a R10,000 BSA sales voucher for the trainer
AN EXCELLENT TIME TO ENTER RACEHORSE OWNERSHIP
4Racing has also announced an additional R22 million in stakes across the Highveld and Eastern Cape over the coming five-month period. The increases begin on 1 October 2026 in the Eastern Cape and 1 November 2026 on the Highveld, with particular emphasis being placed on maiden and juvenile races.
These young horses therefore enter racing at a time of substantially improved earning opportunities, with increased ordinary stakes and the possibility of a valuable BSA juvenile-maiden bonus.
Shares of various sizes remain available. Whether you are an established owner or would like to experience racehorse ownership for the first time, this is an opportunity to join the Spies Racing team with three carefully selected and exceptionally well-bred prospects.
