Sometimes racing goes very well, sometimes not, that’s the game and that is life! Hoc Est Vita is Latin for “This is Life” and this nice filly embodied a good day for the yard at Turffontein, with a winner from our only runner.
Jockey Rachel Venniker commented: “I watched her race re-runs and had a little plan with her. Luckily what I thought would happen, happened, and she won a very nice race. I am thankful for the opportunity from the Spies team.”
Assistant trainer Fransie Naude said that, with the tracks running fast, Ho Est Vita did too much too soon in her last run over 1000m and faded out of contention. Coming from a few lengths off the pace over 1160m suited her well.
Hox Est Vita is by Canford Cliffs out of Fresh, and was bred by Jan Mantel at Millstream Farm. She races for Messrs Joze Soares, Rob Macnab, Ethen Fegen, Mrs I Reddy & Adv J J B Schutte.
