Elegantrix: The future beckons
Grade 3 feature win against the colts

Xander Spies, an individual who embodies the sheer passion and enthusiasm of Spies Racing, writes about the victory of Elegantrix against male two-year-olds in Sunday's Grade 3 Godolphin Barb Stakes, a truly exceptional win:
"Some days everything goes wrong. The draws, the ground, the air itself — heavy and slow — you start to think maybe it’s just not your day.
And then something magnificent barrels through the mess and tears it all to pieces —Elegantrix. Not a delicate little filly. A crown in motion. A force of nature dressed up in silk and thunder.
She didn’t win because they let her. She won because she refused to bow. When the colts leaned in to bully her, she pushed back harder. When the track grabbed at her hooves, she ripped herself free.
She fought. Every inch. Every stride. Every breath. She fought and she would not let go until the race was hers.
Gavin Lerena rode her like he could hear the drumbeat inside her — clear, relentless, inevitable. Not just a good ride.A masterpiece under pressure.
To TKP Racing, Rob Macnab, Braam van Huyssteen, Yagan Nair and Stergio Poriazis: Thank you for giving us the honour of training something so fierce and regal. She lifted us when we needed it most — and she’s only just begun.
Elegantrix didn’t save the day. She claimed it.
And the future is wide open before her.
